✈️ Heading Away This Easter? Here’s How to Prep Your Air Conditioner
Before you pack the car or relax into the long weekend, take five minutes to prep your air conditioning system — especially if no one will be home while you’re away.
✅ 1. Turn It Off at the Wall
If your home will be empty, switch your air con off at the wall control or isolate it at the main switchboard. This prevents unnecessary power use and protects against damage during storms or power surges.
✅ 2. Clean Your Filters
Give your system’s filters a quick clean before heading off. Clean filters improve airflow and efficiency — and you’ll come home to fresher, cleaner air.
✅ 3. Check for Any Strange Noises or Smells
Noticed a burning smell? Odd buzzing? Book a service before Easter to avoid returning to a bigger issue. Early intervention keeps your system healthy and your repair bills low.
✅ 4. Close Zones (Ducted Systems Only)
If you have a Daikin ducted system with zone control, ensure any unused zones are closed before you go. This maintains pressure balance and reduces unnecessary system cycling while you’re away.
